Formulation Basis

Neck and shoulder conditions are becoming increasingly prevalent with the onset of workplace stress, long working hours at the desk and prolonged exposure to air-conditioning. This can cause the neck and shoulders to be easily invaded by cold-winddampness
evil and hence result in the dysfunctional flow of qi and blood in the neck and shoulder and the obstruction of meridians and collateral vessels, causing symptoms such as discomfort, stiffness, weakness and restricted movement in the neck and shoulders, as well
as dizziness, etc.

H&F Shoulder Comfort Plus is a modified formulation based on the classical formula of Cinnamon Twig Decoction plus Pueraria to target the main trigger of neck and shoulder conditions – the onset of wind-cold evil damaging the defence yang, causing a deficiency in
the defence yang and an enduring impediment to the collateral vessels. It uses the Cinnamon Twig Decoction to harmonise the nutrient and defence, resolve the exterior, and dissipate cold; Radix Puerariae to resolve the exterior and the flesh to relieve neck discomforts;
Ramulus Mori, Radix Saposhnikoviae, Rhizoma et Radix Notopterygii, Herba Speranskiae Tuberculatae, Radix Angelicae Pubescentis, Pheretima to dissipate the cold and wind, eliminate dampness, free the meridians and activate the collateral vessels; Radix Paeoniae
Rubrae and Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong to quicken the blood and resolve blood stasis; Rhizoma Curcumae Longae, Sanguis Draconis and Radix et Rhizoma Clematidis to quicken blood and relieve pain. Not only can this herbal combination eliminate the exterior windcold
pattern, but it can also resolve pain in the muscles, free the meridians, activate the collateral vessels, and relieve pain and inflammation.

Ramulus Mori/Radix Saposhnikoviae/Rhizoma et Radix Notopterygii/Herba Speranskiae Tuberculatae/ Radix Angelicae Pubescentis	Dispel wind, eliminate dampness and relieve pain
Ramulus Cinnamomi/Radix Paeoniae Alba/Radix Glycyrrhizae/ Radix Puerariae	Promote sweating to release the flesh, and harmonise the nutrient and defence
Rhizoma Curcumae Longae/ Sanguis Draconis/Radix et Rhizoma Clematidis/Radix Paeoniae Rubrae/ Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong	Quicken blood and relieve pain
Pheretima	Unblock meridians and activate collateral vessels

Clinical Indications

Manifested as discomfort of the shoulder and neck, numbness of the arm, and vertigo due to contraction of wind-cold-dampness and qi-blood disorder. Common clinical conditions include neck-shoulder syndrome, adhesive capsulitis (frozen shoulder), etc.

Dosage and Precaution

2-4 capsules 2 times daily, or in accordance to physician’s orders. Administration of this medicinal product should be stopped upon discovery of any adverse drug reactions or changes in physical appearance of the capsules.
