Formulation Basis

This formula is produced based on one with clinical experience passed down among the common folk. H&F Four Essences Capsules quickens the blood and prevent lipid deposition in the arteries, hence protecting the arterial endothelium from atherosclerosis, improving microcirculation and preventing the formation of blood clots; directly kills cancerous cells, inhibits cancerous cell proliferation and metastasis and induce apoptosis in cancerous cells; decreases blood glucose levels by repairing damaged cells and reducing insulin resistance.

Medicinal Actions

Supplement qi, nourish yin, quicken the blood and transform stasis.

Cordyceps	Supplement the lungs and boost the kidneys
American Ginseng	Boost qi and nourish yin
Herba Dendrobii	Nourish yin, clear vacuity heat and brighten the eyes
Radix Notoginseng	Quicken the blood and stanch bleeding

Clinical Indications

Symptoms caused by qi and yin deficiency and enduring illness entering the network vessels: spontaneous and night sweating, fatigue and lack of strength, oppression and pain in the chest, heart palpitation, frequent numbness of the limbs, unclear vision, dizziness, etc. Commonly used in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular diseases such as arrhythmia, myocarditis, myocardial ischemia and coronary artery atherosclerosis.

Dosage and Precaution

2-3 capsules 2 times daily, or in accordance to physician’s orders. Administration of this medicinal product should be stopped upon discovery of any adverse drug reactions or changes in physical appearance of the capsules.

Clinical Case Study

Male patient Mr. Xie, 80 years old, complained of frequent lack of strength and fatigue, shortage of qi and laziness to speak, a poor appetite, occasional dry retching, and frequent dreams in his sleep. An examination showed a bright white facial complexion, red tongue with less tongue fur and a rapid and fine pulse. After oral administration of Four Essences Capsules for 1 week, 2 capsules 2 times daily, Mr. Xie’s fatigue level was improved significantly and spontaneous sweating was reduced. Symptoms had disappeared after 1 month and never appeared with subsequent follow-up treatment.
Male patient Mr. Lim, 7 years old, had frequent night sweating and profuse spontaneous sweating in the day, as well as a poor appetite. An examination showed a red tongue with less tongue fur and a rapid and fine pulse. His body weight stood at 30 kg. After oral administration of Four Essences Capsules for 3 days, 1 capsule 2 times daily, symptoms had disappeared.
